FE-based Elasticplastic Stress Model of Welding Processes

 width=This course covers the comprehensive understanding of elasto-plastic analysis in welding processes. It begins with the development of a finite element model and explains how to predict residual stress associated with welding processes. The course delves into understanding plasticity models, yield criteria, hardening rules, and flow rules. It further discusses the formulation of stress analysis models, prediction of residual stress, solution strategies, and the incorporation of phase transformation effects. The course also covers the concept of yield surfaces in the context of three-dimensional thermo-mechanical problems. It explains the concept of plastic deformation and how it can be represented in terms of deviatoric stress components. The course concludes with the process of Thermo Mechanical Analysis using commercial software, explaining how to develop a model, integrate thermal and mechanical analysis, and create geometry for analysis.
