Coupling Ansys Motor-CAD Software Lab with Ansys Maxwell Software

This tutorial describes how to setup a model in Ansys Motor-CAD® dedicated electric motor design tool for multi-physics simulation lab to be built using the Ansys Maxwell® advanced electromagnetic field solver and how to further post-process it. The tutorial leverages an Ansys Maxwell design created through export of a Ansys Motor-CAD model, but the process is applicable also to models generated directly in Ansys Maxwell software.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

• • Export and couple machine models between Ansys Motor-CAD Lab and Ansys Maxwell software.
  • Configure key electromagnetic, loss, and simulation settings for accurate FEA-based analysis.
  • Build and validate a Maxwell-Lab model and import simulation results into Ansys Motor-CAD software.
  • Generate and interpret performance metrics, including torque, losses, saturation, and efficiency maps.
