The Coefficient of Variation (CoV) offers a solution by consistently assessing steady-state convergence of monitoring variables in a single graph. It can be used as a stop criterion for the solver. The course demonstrates setting up CoV evaluation and a solver stop criterion in Ansys CFX® computational fluid dynamics software, using turbomachinery as an example.
Learning Outcomes:
Following completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand what the “Coefficient of Variation” (CoV) is and how it is defined.
- Set up the evaluation of the coefficient of variation (CoV) for a specific monitoring point.
- Set up a stop criterion for the solver based on the coefficient of variation.
Prerequisites:
- Getting Started with Ansys CFX Software: Basics
