The roll cage is a major part in automotive design since it is the structural backbone of various functional systems attached to it. It is responsible for providing sufficient space around the driver and keeping the driver safe during normal operations or collisions. The chassis needs to be designed by keeping in mind the ease of manufacturing, reliability, and serviceability. In this course, you will learn how to carry out dynamic analysis of a Baja Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) roll cage. The goal is to ensure that the roll cage of an off-road vehicle will be safe in all conditions. In this course, the roll cage geometry editing process is demonstrated to extract acceptable model for analysis. Then, various aspects of the impact analysis are covered with respect to acceleration and incurred stress to ensure better strength, as well as performance of the vehicle in various dynamic conditions. Download the simulation files hereto follow this course.
Note: This course solely focuses on explicit/dynamic analysis of chassis. If you are looking for carrying out static analysis, we have covered this topic in a separate course available here
A course completion badge allows you to showcase your success. We partner with the Credly Acclaim platform, and digital badges can be used in email signatures, digital resumes and social media sites. The digital image contains verified metadata that describes your participation in our course and the topics and skills that were covered. This badge is for successfully completing the BAJA SAE Chassis Dynamic Analysis Using Ansys Mechanical course.
