This course is a detailed workflow with recommendations for using Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT)™ electronics systems design platform, Ansys Nuhertz® FilterSolutions™ radio frequency filter synthesis software and Ansys SynMatrix Filter™ radio frequency filter synthesis and optimization software to design RF and microwave filters. The course includes sections dedicated to cavity and waveguide filters, lumped element filters and planar filter designs.

Learning Outcomes:

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Synthesize filter responses using the Ansys NuHertz tool.
  • Understand the coupling matrix and how to use it for cavity filter design.
  • Create accurate Ansys HFSS simulations of planar and cavity filters.
  • Understand and implement the port tuning method for filter co-design.

Prerequisites:

  • A Nuhertz license is required to complete Workshop on Nuhertz Planar Filter Design and Export to AEDT.
  • A Nuhertz and Modelithics License is required to complete Workshop on NuHertz Export to AEDT Using Modelithics.
  • All other workshops only require an AEDT License. SynMatrix is recommended for Workshop on Cavity Filter Synthesis, but not essential.
