Ansys Motor-CAD® dedicated electric motor design tool for multiphysics simulation simplifies the electromagnetic design of electric motors using its parameterised standard template geometries. However, for the design of models with geometries that cannot be modeled using Standard Templates, Ansys Motor-CAD provides Adaptive Templates. By using Adaptive Templates users can generate their own geometric parameterisations from scratch or based upon our Standard Templates.

Using Adaptive Templates engineers can generate their own geometric parameterisations using a Python script. This tutorial introduces Adaptive Templates and demonstrates an example workflow.

This tutorial will create a model based upon the e9 template with additional parameterised rotor notches using Adaptive Templates and create a SYNCREL machine based on the i3 template with curved rotor barriers. It will show how Adaptive Templates functionality can be used with the DXF geometry import options in Ansys Motor-CAD.
