Answer: The issue manifests itself when the user executes Ansys Viewer, but the GUI never opens. If you look in the Windows Task Manager, you may see a single ANSYSViewer.exe process running. When running properly you should see four of those processes. The most common cause is Antivirus software preventing the other three processes from being started by the parent ANSYSViewer process. For instance if you are running Symantec Endpoint Protection, you may need to uninstall, disable, or otherwise exclude Ansys Viewer from the “Symantec Application and Device Control” under the Proactive Threat Protection heading.
