Post-processing of harmonic analysis results

      The post-processing of harmonic analysis results file should be identical to those from any other Transient Blade Row (TBR) simulation. The solution data is written in “Fourier Coefficient” compressed form; therefore, all the tools applicable to transient blade row apply. That is, •You can evaluate/visualize the solution at any time w/o reading another file. •You can instance as many copies as you need of the blade row. •The calculator should work with instanced copies as it were a real model. That is, areaInt(variable)@Inlet includes the instances copies as well. •The only minor difference is that if you load harmonic analysis without Fourier coefficients (see Load Results panel for the toggle), the timestep selector will contain only the last time plane solution at the end of the run (if Post beta option is enabled, all time planes will be available in the timestep selector). For a time domain case, it contains the last time step. The post-processing/monitoring of the output file from a harmonic analysis is different from other TBR methods. •The RMS residuals shown correspond to the RMS between all the time planes for the given equation •The MAX residuals shown correspond to the MAX residual among all the time planes •The values of monitor points correspond to the “time averaged” value of the point of interest among all the time planes. •Unlike a time domain run, monitor points will not show a periodic signal when converged, but show the mean value of the signal. For comparison with a time domain run, you must create an additional plot for the running average within the Solver Manager. •Similarly, for monitoring of expressions, you must create an additional plot for the running average within the Solver Manager for comparing a time domain run with a harmonic analysis run. •Monitoring of Flows/Imbalances/Neg Accumulation (unfortunately) are at the last time level. No averaging is performed.
