ICEM Octree meshing is very slow even in parallel. In fact, when I add a lot of processors, there seems to be no difference in speed beyond a certain point. Is Octree even supported in parallel? What about Prism and smoothing

Yes, both Octree Tetra and Prism can run on multiple processors, and a few other things, like the general smoother and Hexa pre-mesh. The Octree mesher doesn’t scale that well with increasing multiple processors. Testing with a mesh of medium size and complexity (number of elements), suggest that there will be a speedup up to a certain number of processors and then a progressive slowdown after that. A very simple model may therefore reach its optimum number of processors at a low number of processors, and a very complex model will reach that optimum at more processors. The best approach is to do a few spot checks with different numbers of processors to try and find the optimum for your mesh size and shape. Simce meshing requirements change somewhat with the numbers of surfaces that need to be considered, this optimum will be somewhat case-dependent. The number of processors that ICEM uses can be changed under Settings Menu > General
