Multiphase Flows

Multiphase Flows

I am running an Eulerian Multiphase simulation and expect to see a liquid level at several outlets. Instead at the outlets, I am seeing that the liquid phase appears where I expect the gas phase to be. How can I resolve this?

The outlet boundary conditions (average pressure outlet) are inappropriate for outlets where phases are known to be stratified. The pressure outlet boundary condition imposes a uniform pressure, but pressure will not be uniform. To combat this, something like an open channel boundary condition must be imposed for the outlets. In this adjustment, the outlet plane is typically divided at the expected liquid gas interface, so that a boundary condition can be imposed for each phase. This allows the pressure field to stay continuous as the outlet boundary is approached
