How to simulate the short circuit of a transformer using an external circuit in the Maxwell transient solver?

When simulating a short circuit of a transformer using an external circuit in the transient solver, a time-varying resistance cannot be used. Instead, a switch can be inserted which has two different values of resistance: Roff and Ron. This switch can be driven either by a voltage or a current pulse, where the rise of the step pulse causes the switch to be activated therefore causing the resistance to change.
