FAQ
ParticipantPull-out and bond slip body interactions are not readily available in ANSYS. Therefore, to model this type of behavior, you need to apply proper material failure model to the concrete material to simulate the bond failure between the steel rebars and concrete material. For example, if RHT concrete material model is used, tension, compression, and shear failure are all considered in this material model. Thus if concrete material fails in tension, shear, or compression, it will lose the capability to take any external loading together with rebars. Rebars can move without the bonding force from the concrete. This could simulate the behavior of rebars pull-out or bond slip. If other concrete material models are used, failure models should be added to the concrete material to account for the material failure.
