How to diagnose a temperature discontinuity across solid-solid interface.

If you observe a temperature discontinuity across a solid-solid interface, it may be due to incorrect faces being specified in the interface. In the out file, you can find the interface connection information at the start of the Solver section, which lists the non-overlap information for each side. For instance, if the non-overlap for one side is 100%, then this is an indication that an incorrect face has been used. Next, in CFX-Pre, you can visually see what sides are connected by clicking on side 1 and side 2 connections under each domain in the outline tree. This would clearly show whether the “foot print” of one side matches the other.
