We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

EM FAQ: How to link the mesh from a static solver to transient solver in Maxwell?

The magnetostatic and eddy current solvers in Maxwell adaptively refine the mesh until convergence is reached. Since the transient solver is based on time-stepping, the adaptive mesh refinement capability is not available although the initial mesh is automatically generated. One way to refine the mesh in transient solver is by assigning some mesh operations. An alternate way to have a refined mesh in the transient solver is to link an adaptively refined mesh from the magnetostatic or eddy current solver. This document focuses on the latter approach and shows the steps to link the mesh from the static solver to transient solver. Keywords: Maxwell, Mesh linking, transient solver, refining mesh.
