Does Fluent account for the so called Brinkman term in the porous zone?

      The relative viscosity approach in Fluent porous media accounts for the impact of solid porous medium on the fluid material viscosity. The laminar viscosity, which appears in the momentum equations in the formulation of the molecular stresses, is then adjusted accordingly (increased in the case of the Brinkman correction). The theory for various porous media viscosity submodels is documented in the Fluent v 18.2 User’s Guide under Cell Zones and Boundary Conditions > Cell Zone Conditions > Porous Media Conditions > Relative Viscosity for Porous Media. This adjustment to the viscosity leads to an additional term, which corresponds to the Brinkman term when the Brinkman correction is active.
