FAQ
ParticipantStructural FEA simulation is often a bottleneck in early or delayed design stages. Due to multiple steps with long lead times, design exploration, what-if scenarios and multiple concepts become very slow and costly. ANSYS Discovery Live is the union of fast and easy 3D creation and editing and unmatched real-time solver technology. Structural simulation can now be used during any point of the design process to compare ideas, improve performance or reduce weight and cost. Â
Download and open these pre-solved examples to gain an understanding of what ANSYS can help you Discover Live.
Â
1)Â Structural Deformation in a Plastic Housing
Application example of the deformation of a plastic housing with cut-outs is studied. The change in deformation under different load locations and cut-out locations/shapes can be explored. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
Â
2)Â Structural Simulation of a Clutch Housing
Application example of a structural simulation of a clutch housing and frame to understand the frame deformation under vertical load. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
Â
3)Â Tie-rod Connector Stress Simulation
Application example of a tie-rod connector simulation using parameter studies to investigate changes in geometry and changes in loading. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
Â
4)Â Structural Simulation of a Snap-Fit Buckle
Application example of a snap-fit buckle in Discovery Live utilizing face displacement as an alternative to deformation by non-linear contact. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
Â
5)Â Torsional performance of a gear housing
Application example of the structural performance of the gear housing is investigated. A simple torsional load is applied to one end of the structure and the opposing end is fixed at the bolting locations. A parameter study is also included to look at the effects of the overall length of the structure. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
Â
6)Â Structural Loading of Hip Implant
Application example of a simple loading being applied to a replacement hip. The high stress locations and overall part deformation can be visualized and measured. This project requires release 19.2 or newer.
