Some Fluent models are only available in 3D. (solar ray tracing, shell conduction ….) User may want to convert his 2D calculation to a 3D case (one layer thick) in order to use those models: * for those who installed CFX you can simply import Fluent mesh and write a def file that will be imported back in 3D in Fluent. * for those who installed ICEM CFD, this solution will help you to create a 3D mesh * for everyone, annex of the attached document explains how to interpolate your 2d result onto the the 3D calulation.
