Fluent’s built-in Newman P2D model can be used in a battery pack simulation just like any other submodel. The submodel can be called per computational cell (if you do not use cell clustering), but it will be costly. Usually cell clustering is needed to speed up the simulation. Note that the Newman P2D submodel is designed to model a small section of a pair of electrodes and detail the sub-electrode level of a battery. As such, extending it to an entire pack can be very costly and is not usually practical because of the length and time scale discrepancies.
