Particle diameter distribution from ANSYS CFX can be visualized using two methods: 1.) Particle Histograms: Detailed information about the definition of the particles histograms can be found in the ANSYS Help: ANSYS Documentation/CFX/CFX/Pre User’s Guide/Output Control/User Interface/Particles Tab/Particle Histogram. 2.) Setting the Expert Parameter “pt histo = t ” Using the Expert Parameter produces an additional output to the ANSYS CFX Outfile (.out) and its syntax is shown in the attached file histo.ccl. The file can be used when starting the ANSYS CFX Solver with the option -ccl histo.ccl. The method is restricted to Number of Particles and Mass Flow Rate as function of Particle Diameter. An example for setup of Rosin Rammler particle distribution and comparison of the numerical and analytical calculation for the cumulative particle mass fraction/mass flow rate for both methods is attached.
