Is it possible to mirror parts of an assembly using External Model / Model Assembly in Workbench?

      Yes, it is possible to mirror the assembly using External Model/Assembly Modeling in Workbench. In its properties in WB, select ‘Mirroring’ for transformation type. Define 1 for the axis normal to mirroring plane. One can create a full model using this approach. Bring in the half symmetric meshed file in Workbench and then user Mirroring option. Once the mirror part is created on symmetry plane, one can use ‘Node merge’ in Mesher to create shared node at mirror plane. Please find below a simple example of mirroring assembly.
