When submitting a solve in Mechanical, I no longer see the pup-up status Window as the job starts and the solve progresses. The solve is running. Suggestions to get the pop-up window back?

The status window will not show up if you are submitting a job to a remote machine/cluster or if you are running the analysis in batch mode. Otherwise, it should be available. It is possible that the window has somehow been resized. You can get it back, by clearing the V182 folder in %appdata%ansys. To do this, however, you will have to close all running sessions of V18.2 and then 1. open windows explorer/folder 2. Type %appdata% and hit enter 3. Go to ansys folder and rename v182 folder to v182_old Now when you launch WB 18.2 again, it will start with default preference settings and you should have access to the window when you run a solution. Also, please note that doing this will affect the user preferences/ACT’s installed, so ACT’s should be installed again. If it still doesn’t work, you can manually edit the location of the progress window by opening SOFTWARE.xml in the %appdata%AnsysV182UserRegFiles _
folder. There is a line in the XML that looks like this: It gives the x-y coordinates of the progress window diagonal. If the x-coordinates had gone negative or out-of-bounds, and setting them to positive values or zero should bring the window back.
