FAQ: Discovery SpaceClaim – Unable to create diameter/radius dimensions. Only linear dimensions appear
This problem appears when the geometry in the 3D frame of reference is not aligned with the default drawing views.
You can fix the orientation using the following steps:
- Activate the Move command
- Select the component or solid body from the structure tree
- Click the Anchor button (#1 in the image below)
- Select the center axis of the arc, or the top face of the body (#2)
- Click the Move tool handle perpendicular to the face, or aligned to the center axis (#3)
- Click the Orient to Object tool (#4)
- Select a reference to align the body to, such as an axis of the world origin
The default drawing views such as Top, Front, Right, etc are all aligned with the planes of the world origin, such as XY, XZ, and YZ. If the geometry is not aligned with these, the orientation of the model on a drawing sheet will be skewed.
