Problem: During installation of Discovery 2019R1 version, the following error is observed in “install.err” file (saved at C:Program FilesANSYS Inc or equivalent Discovery products installation folder)

Cause: This error is due to a defect with the German localization. It is fixed for release 2019 R2.

Recommended solution: To overcome the above-mentioned problem, install Product Installation Service Pack for German language OS from Discovery Downloads page.

Alternatively, you can also manually edit one file from 2019R1 installation to overcome this error. Below are the steps:

In the file:

..Shared FilesLicensinglicadminscriptslanguagede.msg localization, it seems the %s entries where changed to %1 for the following localized string:

mcset de “Processing %s file required by the %s file”

“Verarbeitung der Datei %1 ist erforderlich aufgrund der Datei %1”

These lines should be:

mcset de “Processing %s file required by the %s file”

“Verarbeitung der Datei %s ist erforderlich aufgrund der Datei %s”

To correct the issue, after installation you must edit de.msg (right click on this file and open in any text editor for editing) so it reads %s and NOT %1.

After that, you must run this command from an adimistrator command prompt:
