How do 8-node hexahedral elements compare to 20-node hexahedral elements for contact problems?

With hyperelastic materials, lower order hex elements are optimal, in terms of robustness and accuracy, but not always practical. It can be helpful to drop midside nodes and let the solver invoke enhanced strain technology when bending is excessive. Higher order elements can be more susceptible to turning inside out under excessive bending, but this can be alleviated through the use of smaller timesteps.
