Why is APDL saying some of my elements do not have material properties?

I am receiving the following error when tryig to solve my structural analysis with APDL:

"element 148645 requires material properties and references material number 0 for which no properties are defined. Checking terminates."

I have no Material 0 defined and have assigned my materials according to specific components using the component manager.

      Any advice appreciated.

Select that element or just see what is the MAT assignment for the element, is it 0 or ?

Just use ELIST,148645 and see what MAT, TYPE, REAL are

      Hi,

After using ELIST the following returned:

LIST ALL SELECTED ELEMENTS IN RANGE    148645  TO    148645  STEP       1

I have used component manager to assign material attributes to each component. As far as I can see there is no area that I haven't assigned to a component. Also the Material Models I have range from 1-3 so 0 shouldn't be possible? I am reassigning all my components so hopefully I will find the error here.

This is a different issue also, but I am finding that APDL crashes occassionally when I move the model? I have attached a screenshot of the warning that appears when this happens.

      Thanks.

The screenshot shows some form of issue so I would escalate that to Ansys - send it to their support. Sure the Ansys guys here in the forum can give some more directions on how to report this - all software vendors should be very glad to get these things reported and sorted as it makes the software more reliable

Are you using super elements? might be looking for a file.

If not, Can you try upgrading to 2019R1 and see if it helps?
