SubscriberHello everyone,
Could you please help me in figuring out why I get this warning on Ansys Workbench? I made a filleted stainless steel bar and added a frictionless support on one end (B), and a 50kN Force on the other end (A). I am trying to solve for Equivalent Stress and Total Deformation. When I try to generate the solution, I get the warning below.
Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you!

PS: use 1/4 symmetry instead (as it is the model is not restrained in Z and Y)

Ansys EmployeeHey,Â
The choice of support is not entirely correct here, the frictionless support provides reaction forces only in +X direction (normal to the applied face). It restricts the deformation in the normal direction only. Here that support is not doing what it is meant to do. Here is the help link for understanding the frictionless support.
17.6.3.5. Frictionless Support (ansys.com)
Use this link to know about supports and types and figure out what you might need. ( i would suggest start with fixed support, get preliminaru results and then figure out what exactly is the support you need)

SubscriberHey,
I agree with mohan about the choice of frictionless support as ideally it should be the fixed support but if in case you still want to run it with frictionless support you can try it by turning weak springs on under analysis settings.
With weak springs on solver will apply a spring connection (very low stiffness) on the structure where it is free to move but in the end it is neccessary to probe force reaction with weak springs.
If that reaction force is too low as compared to the applied boundary condition. you can move forward with the results.

Abhinav
