what is the suitable mooring line?

      Good morning all,

I am using ANSYS AQWA to simulate the floating body with cube dimension of 400mm. I have provided cable section properties as " catenary section" and cable attributes as " linear". After simulation, model is oscillating near the sea bed su and heave motion, rotatory motions are not recording. I have tried for nonlinear catenary, non linear steel wire and the results are same. please do suggest me for suitable mooring lines for model.

      Hello,
to check that all the parameters are correct in your modelling, there are few checks you can do.
The first one is ensuring the hydrostatic results (under the Hydrodynamic system) : the diagonal elements of the hydrostatic stiffness matrix should be positive. You can also check that the displaced volume is positive and smaller than the equivalent volumetric displacement.
Secondly, you can check the cable properties (highlighted items) so we can single out that the issue is down the the cable properties rather than the model definition.
      I hope this helps.
      Kind regards, Ingrid

Dear Thank you for your response.
I have tried by giving the cable properties as you suggested and simulations are completed without any errors. I am unable to find out any motion responses of the structure.
Here I am attaching few images of properties of cable and results images.
kindly go through it and suggest me to proceed further.
      Thank you.

Good evening all I am facing the same problem while solving with different mooring conditions.
Kindly go through above issue, suggest me a way to proceed further.

      Thank you.
