Ansys EmployeeResidual stresses are the stresses remaining in an object, even though the object is no longer subjected to external forces. Residual stress is commonly observed in applications like metal forming, welding process, prestressed concrete and so on. Residual stress can be either beneficial either harmful, depending on whether it is under control.Â
