Weird Strain Result

      Hello everybody,

I'm a new Ansys user and among the differetn excercises that I've done in a particular one I can figure out what I'm doing wrong in the mechanical environment.

I attach the screen; the excercise is pretty simple because is a bending process.

I'm sure the error is simple but I'm getting crazy.

      Can you help me?

      Many thanks

Hi, the deformation plot that you have shared here is unconverged (meaning that the results here don't represent the actual physical deformation). To figure out why the solution is not converging, you could look at Solution > Solution Information> Solution Output:Solver Output. You may find some error or warning messages there that might provide a clue.

If not, please share additional details about your simulation so that other forum users can help out: the objective of the simulation, geometry and material details, loads and boundary conditions applied, the analysis settings for all the 5 load steps etc. etc.

      Hi,

sorry you are right about the missing informations.

      # The geometry of the problem has the aim to simulate a sheet deep drawing:

      # The warning and error message are the following ones:

      # Joints “body-ground”: 3 fixed, 1 translational vertically with a displacement .

      # Contacts: 2-3 bonded, 1-2 rough.

I hope every informations are clear now.

Many thanks again for the help

Hi, the first error message you shared indicates excessive distortion in certain elements. Here is a video that might be helpful in remedying that: How to Handle Element Distortion Errors in Hyperelastic Materials — Lesson 3 - ANSYS Innovation Courses

      Hope this helps!

      Hi,

I watched the video and followed the tips.

I've reduced the time step and made the mesh less course (half size and nonlinear mechanical, the quality seems good) but I still have the problem.

The used material is Al alloy NL (in the tutorial instead is hyperelatsic the material).

I tried also using "remote displacement"

I don't know how to fix it. Any other tips?

      Thank you very much.
