SubscriberI am conducting a heat transfer analysis and would like to compare the Nusselt number. At present, I can only extract instantaneous wall values from the simulation. In ANSYS Fluent, under Report Definitions, only total heat flux is available. If the radiation model is not enabled, can this quantity still be used as a valid basis for evaluating convective heat transfer? Additionally, is there a simpler or more direct way to extract the time-dependent Nusselt number from the simulation results? Any suggestions or recommended practices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Forum ModeratorYou can monitor the value with time, but would heat flux and temperature be better to allow you to directly compare with the experiment? Look carefully at Fluent's Nu and HTC definitions in the User's Guide.Â
