SubscriberHi everyone!
I am using the volume of fluid method in ANSYS Fluent by using the open channel flow for a flow in a lake. I am using the k-e standard turbulence model. I created 2 different expressions for the values of k and e. So i have different values for water and different values for air. Is that correct? Or i have to use an average value based on the dimensions of my fluid domain? I have watched a lot of tutorials that they using it and they not really pay attention to it very much.
Â
Thank you for your time?

Forum ModeratorI'd not worry about it too much. The boundary turbulence values will be damped/enhanced within the first few cells providing the values are sensible. Whilst the velocity, temperature boundaries need to be set precisely, turbulence just needs to be good enough. That's why we always move flow boundaries some distance from the area of interest.Â
