SubscriberWe get a "VKI license is not available. Corresponding TUI and GUI options for import and export will not be available." when attempting to export results after running a simulation.
Is this because export is not supported in the free student version, or is it an issue with the low quality of the discrete video card, or is it something else?
Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeThis seems like just a warning when you start Fluent, not "when attempting to export results after running a simulation"
This warning is fine. What exactly is the issue when you are trying to export results ? Also what file type you are exporting to ? By default, it does not need that license.
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberHi Win,
With this warning, I do not face any problem while doing the simulation. But the problem starts when I try to export the solution data. Since I am doing a transient flow simulation, to get the solution result from every time step, I select "file>export>during solution>solution data". It gives me the solution data for each time step separately. I did this for my other projects. But when this warning "VKI license is not available" showed up, the option "Solution data" got deactivated. this option is not working anymore. The file type is text in ASCII.
Thanks,
Sanjida

Ansys EmployeeHi Sanjida,
That workflow needs VKI license because you are trying to export the file format that requires a third party tool (built into Fluent in the back-end)
With Student version license, you can only use Write -> Data , or Write -> Case file
Thanks,
Win

I am having the same problem where it says VKI licence is not available and I am not able to do any solution. Is there a way to sort this?
Thanks

Forum ModeratorIt shouldn't stop you doing anything other than importing/exporting certain features. Just OK the warning and carry on.
