Hi,

I was using lumerical 2022 R2.4 and recently updated it to 2023 R2.3. After that, it crashes when I open a new or old project in varFDTD. Closes the project without saving. I tried to remove all folders and install old and new versions, including 2022, 2023 and 2024. But the problem still continues. Can you please help me, I couldn't find any cases like that online. I am a commercial customer so you can also reach me via email.

I followed clean reinstall procedure in lumerical website an installed 2024 version. But the problem still continues. Has anyone faced with this problem before?

Hi Ahmet, 

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with Lumerical varFDTD. 

• Reboot your computer,
• Remove the Lumerical product preference.ini files from your user's folder in your computer,
  • >Ansys Lumerical product preference files – Ansys Optics
• Open the Optics Launcher, 
• Click on "New Project" for varFDTD or the solver which you have the license for. 
• Or open MODE directly from the "Start Menu".
  • >Running the Ansys Lumerical CAD/IDE – Ansys Optics
• Should the issue persist, please send the Ansys client licensing log files from your computer.
  • >Troubleshooting licensing issues with the Ansys license manager – Ansys Optics
• Check/update to the latest Display Adapter drivers from the manufacturer.

• Check the Windows > Event Viewer > Application & System logs for any errors at the time the crash happens on your computer.
