SubscriberI am making my Master thesis, which includes FEA, in co-operation with a company. My university provides me with an Ansys student licence which I can use for the analyses in my thesis. However, the company would like to receive all my Ansys models and files after the project. I wonder if I am allowed to hand over the files (created with a student licence) to the company for their possible future use or not?

Forum ModeratorThe University won't be supplying Student as that's direct from Ansys and isn't supplied to any groups. Can you check what you're using, likely Teaching or Research, as that will help determine what can be done.Â
Does the company have Ansys software?Â

Forum ModeratorIf you're on the Uni network check the licence, I think it's listed somewhere near the top of the console text. Otherwise check with your project supervisor.Â
OK, as the company has software it's a little easier as we can talk to them directly. Please ask them to talk to their account manager, and mention this thread.Â
Thank you for checking. If we (Ansys) know before someone breaks any terms or conditions we can discuss and agree on something. If we find out afterwards it's more difficult.Â
