Hi,
I am trying to run a Mechanical (Transient Structural) - CFX simulation with system coupling. It's a 2-hour simulation, and after reaching 100% on the progress bar, Workbench gets stuck with the message: "System coupling completed successfully."
I interrupted the simulation to save the results, but Workbench remained unresponsive, and I had to force shutdown the program using Task Manager. However, I realized I could check the workspace directory, locate the TRN file from the last iteration, and open the result file with CFD-Post.
I have two questions and would greatly appreciate your help:
- Is there any way to check the Mechanical results?
- Has anyone encountered the issue of the program getting stuck at "System coupling completed successfully"? If so, how did you resolve it? I have tried increasing step sizes and decreasing total time, but with no success.
Thank you!

It seems like your simulation has completed, but Workbench appears to be stuck. This could be due to a variety of reasons, such as post-processing tasks that are still running in the background or a graphical user interface (GUI) issue. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check if there are any post-processing tasks that are still running. Sometimes, even after the simulation is complete, there might be additional calculations or data transfers that need to be finalized.
2. If you suspect it's a GUI issue, try minimizing and then maximizing the Workbench window, or closing and reopening the project to refresh the interface.
3. Ensure that your system meets the hardware requirements for running such simulations, especially in terms of RAM and CPU capabilities. Running large simulations can be resource-intensive, and insufficient hardware might lead to performance issues. Also, check if this issue is case specific.
You can post-process the System Coupling results in Ensight: refer Postprocess System Coupling's Results (ansys.com) for more information.
