Transient simulation in CFX

      Hi all,

We have one nozzle and 150 blades. We are doing a sector-wise analysis, considering the computational cost. We are trying to run a transient simulation. We have a steady result from the same mesh. I was using that mesh to initialize the transient simulation.

I have doubts regarding the transient simulation.

Do we have to select the simple transient option or the transient blade row? Which option is suitable?

      considering this case?

      Hello Amkum,

The Transient Rotor-Stator model takes into account all of the transient flow characteristics. This model is robust and yields high accuracy predictions of loading. The drawbacks include high computational cost and large amounts of storage required to hold the transient data.

I would recommend you to use the Transient blade row interaction. For the type of transient blade row interaction. Please go through the link in which depending on pitch ratio one among the three - profile, time or fourier transformation methods have been used.

I hope now you will get a clear picture to use which method.

      Thanks,
