SubscriberWhere am I going wrong? I have a student license from my university. I have Thermal Desktop, AutoCAD 2024, and SindaFluint all installed. Here's exactly what I do:
Licensing Portal: Activations > Active Entitlements > Select Active Server > Generate;
Ansys License Management Center: Get System Hostid Information > first MAC Address (E) > Save To Fill;
Licensing Portal: Activations > Manage Activations > Rehost > “Upload license” select saved file from > Download existing license file
Ansys License Management Center: Add a license file > Browse > select license file >View Status/Start/Stop License Manager > Start
Ansys Licensing Settings: Port: 1055 > Server 1: the hostname of the activated license
When I attempt to launch thermal desktop, I am met with the following error: "Unable to get a license. Thermal Desktop will now terminate."

Ansys EmployeeHi Natalee,
From user end (where thermal desktop is installed), launch Ansys Licensing Setting as an admin> license server> enter port no. and hostname> click on test green checkmark should appear> save it> click on feature in use tab t verify if all increments are visible.
If you don't have admin access, launch environment variables> under user variable add below variable
variable name: ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE
variable value: portno.@hostname //replace portno. and hostname with exact value.
