Just want to check if something is possible in Discovery.
In discovery I can see how long a part will take to cool by using Time dependent Thermal Analysis.
See attached part and set up.
Is it then possible to add a cooling channel and see the effects of this? For example I would want to see areas of undercooling and overcooling.
This is a very basic model but the principles would be the same on a more complex.
I thought this may be CHT analysis but I don't seem to get any results that seem reasonable.
Would this sort of thing require a higher Ansys product?

For Time dependent analysis you will need to specify time-dependent simulation duration else the simulation will continue until it is interrupted.
Yes, I think this should be possible in Discovery with CHT analysis. You can as well do Time dependent CHT analysis in Discovery 23.1. For areas of cooling and undercooling you can specify monitors at some locations to get results on those.
IGBT cooling for Fluid solid heat transfer would be good case to refer for such case Getting Started – Fluids – Ansys Knowledge
You can do the design variations for cooling channel i.e., fluid volume to see the effects.
