SubscriberHi All,
I just downloaded the example files from Large-Scale Metalens – Ray Propagation – Ansys Optics. I follow the steps and now I am in the step of generating the GDS file.
When I run the gds_export.lsf code without any modification, I got this error:
It is said that it can't create a matrix with more than 2^31 values. I am using a PC with 10 cores (Intel Core-i9 10900K), and 64 GB RAM. I hope someone can help me.

Thank you.

I guess this is your computer OS limitation as this value is the largest number it can deal with.
GDS output for extremely large devices is very challenge as the geometry must be described as polygons. Therefore the article gives the limitation "Even with this updated workflow, the maximum size that can be simulated is limited by the RAM of the computer. With a 64Gb of RAM, the maximum size that can be generated is a metalens with a radius of a little over 10mm."
and this is in general. For specific devices it may require more memory. I tested the gds output file on my 64bit laptop and it worked fine:

the only concern is it spent about 2 hours while I had other files i running.
