Tesselation error in Lumerical CHARGE

Using the CAD software, I created a structure of a truncated cone and imported this .stl file in charge. Now in charge, when I am trying to simulate, the simulation is not running and It is stopping at 5% tessellating. I also tried the simulation by reducing the max. edge length to 0.01 under the mesh setting in the charge solver.

Not sure what your  truncated cone looks like. If it has round top tip, it might be a problem since it will need many more  tetrahedral grids. To resolve this, you may need to "cut" a little bit of the tip, say 5 nm.

If there is any small long gap, it might also cause this issue.

Adjusting the global mesh constraints or auto-refinement settings might help. More setting description can be found here https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034918633-CHARGE-solver-Simulation-object
