SubscriberIs there a way to create a custom material with different tensile/compressive ultimate strengths depending on the x, y, or z component? I only see a singular option for tensile ultimate strength and orthotropic stress limits which i assume are not the same thing. Additionally, if I don't have data for a specific direction component what happens if i leave that data input box blank?

SubscriberHello CNISPEROS ,
I did not understand, which discovery product you are using.
If you are using Discovery AIM, there is a provision to define an orthotropic material, where you can define Young's modulus in X, Y, and Z direction and Poisson's ratio and shear modulus in XY, YZ, and XZ direction (refer image). You can then compare the simulation results with the tensile strength accordingly. You can refer to AIM documentation for more information.Â
Please let me know if I understood your query correctly.
Regards.
