SubscriberI'm going to make 1/4 geometry and mirror it about x,y axis by symmetric function. But some parts should be not mirrored.
Is it possible?Â

Ansys EmployeeHi Jongho,Â
Can you please provide more details like which tool you use to create geometry, whether discovery or spaceclaim ?
Thanks
Deepak.

Ansys EmployeeIf you are using Discovery for modeling, you can select the objects you want to mirror by use of Mirror function. You need to specify the mirror plane to mirror the selected objects about the specified plane. For parts that should not be mirrored, you would simply not select them when performing the mirroring operation. If you need to mirror certain parts and not others, you can do this in multiple steps, selecting only the parts you want to mirror each time.
Thanks

SubscriberI'm using static structure and geometry is imforted from autocad step file.
In Model, I select 'Symmetry' boundary condition to mirror the geometry abot x -axis.
And then mirror the geometry again about y-axis but at this time i want to exclude some geomety.
If i use 1/2 scale geometry, it is simple but the data exceeds my computer capacity.

Ansys EmployeeHi Jongho,
The symmetry function should be used only when the geometry is completely symmetric about the axis of selection.
In your case, we can only use 1/2 of the geometry for analysis.
ThanksÂ
