stiffened Shell buckling analysis

      Hello

i try to simulate a orthogrid stiffened shell. Therefor I created a geometry in Spaceclaim(midsurfaces-model). Also I used the shared topology function of spaceclaim.

Meshing worked fine, also my static analysis->Deformation looks symetric.

But my Buckling pattern is not symetrical in the middle axial direction.

      Here are some pictures:

nnIt looks that you can model half-symmetry. Do you see same behavior if you use half-symmetry?.Regards,nAshish Khemkan

nfor the axial compression it could be. But I try to add also an lateral acceleration. Yesterday night i discovered that the behaviour strongly depends on the mesh size. For a Mesh size smaler then 50mm (cylinder lenght 13m radius 0,75m) i got a not symetrical buckling on the top of the shell in the middle(axial). After various test, i also discovered that for realy stiff shells and weak grids , the buckling behavoiur looks normal -long axial waves symetricaly distributednnGreatingsnKnHwn
