SubscriberI have a copper coil with known loop count, loop diameter, wire diameter, internal resistance, etc. (I have a physical version and can test other parameters as well) and want to hook it up to a power supply with known voltage and current in order to heat up a secondary metallic object. I want to predict the maximum temperature within this secondary object after linking this to Transient Thermal.
However, when I use the 'Winding' menu, it seems you are foced to choose between specifiying 'Current' or 'Voltage'. What if I know both? -

Ansys EmployeeHello Jacob,
You could only enter either one of voltage or current, and then get result of another one. By adjusting model, you could match the output result as same as the measurement.Â
We could enter both, because Maxwell would calculate inductance, but you can enter resistance while using voltage.
