July 27, 2021 at 6:34 amharald.goetzSubscriberI used to copy a bunch of curves ("runners") from Spaceclaim for Plastic Injection Simulation (Moldflow Insight) to a new design.  Without doing this moldflow can not recognize the outcoming IGES data the right way. But this is not possible with Spaceclaim from 2020 (?) due to the fact that every curve seems to be a sketch in it's very own coordinate system. Every time I try to copy and paste the curves to a new design the curves "explode". (See picture with a simple example). This would render the use od Spaceclaim in newer version useless for me. Any ideas if the software is the reason or my education state? :) Thanks in advance Harald

Hello SC-FEMART
If I understood correctly, the curves used to get imported as a single curve, and with the newer versions, it is getting split into individual lines. Can you please tell me which version of SpaceClaim you were using previously? Also will it be possible for you to send me the file so that I can test it on my end?
Regards

Hi Charudatta,
not quite - I would like to have multiple curves in a runner system (later 1d Beam elements).
The problem that is shown in the picture is, that the curve on a sketch plane is not in the same place as the curve not on a sketch plane. That behavior drives me mad. But I hope it is just my lack of knowledge.
That used to work in 2017 and before well - with 2020 (2020.2.0.06012) it doesn`t work.
I wonder why that is, but it has to do with the sketch plane - just look at the coordinate system in the right picture after copy and paste.ÂI`ll try to create a file That I can send.
Best regards
Harald

July 27, 2021 at 10:52 amharald.goetzSubscriberHere I have an example you can try. Simply mark all curves and youl make a new document and copy these curves over. The curves on a "plane / Sketchplane" will fall on the Coordinate system - pretty useless, but as I said - might be my fault...? Hello SC-FEMART
I am not sure whether this is intended behaviour or a bug. I am seeing similar behaviour on my end as well, Since you are saying that in previous versions of SpaceClaim, this was not the case, I have filed a bug ticket (496156) to understand the issue better. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from the experts and developers.
Regards.
