Good day,nI would like to ask a question. I am having a dynamic mesh motion without remeshing. nLet's say I have a time period T, and I would have n*T. This simulation has also particle injection. Is there an option how to import the solution for the fluid domains and only calculate the particle tracking?nKind regards,nAlesn

Hello, nYour question is not very clear to me. Do you want to import an existing solution but then just track particles without evolving the solution any further?nAlso are you performing Unsteady Particle tracking or just steady state without coupling to the flow?nIf latter, then you can just track the DPM particles as post processing. You will not need to run the flow solution.nIf not, then you could turn off the Flow equations from Controls-->Equations and then just track the DPM particles.nI am not entirely sure if this is what you want.nRegards,nSuryan

I have unsteady particle tracking. I have a periodic motion therefore I would calculate only one period and then I would just load the flow field for any time. You can imagine it like sinus function that the value repeats every period.nbut I will locally change the permeability of porous zone. So I would say to the software solver to solve the flow equations each 10 periods for example.n

You may be able to do this with injection and summary files. However, you'd need to be careful to update the flow data frequently enough to get an accurate solution. Particles wouldn't be able to effect the flow either. n

Thank you for your answer. Indeed, I assume the particles do not affect the flow.nn

could you please tell me how can I use the summary files moreover is there a possibility how to guide ANSYS which solution file it should read.nThank younKind regards,nAlesn

You'd need to use execute commands to read files at intervals, and the DPM Summary can be converted to an injection file. We're not permitted to give too detailed a response, but using the manual the steps should be fairly straightforward if not overly easy. n

Found the meshing option I was looking for, https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/Secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v211/en/flu_ug/flu_ug_replace_mesh.html you'll need to modify this to read in the mesh (preferably case) and data. n
