I try to build a spiral coil, with a polygon cross section, but I accidentally set the axis of the polygon wrong, which seems to be a solid with no height. Then I try to unite it with two boxes, when I found the different sequences of the three chosen components may lead to different results. If the two boxes are a sub of the spiral coil, the Ansys may warn Acis error: "Fail to make union..
Acis Error 21040 - internal inconsistency in boolean operation
wondering why does the ansys warn -

Hi Fang Joshua,
Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum.
Please note that you can change the axis of the object by double-clicking on the create node in the history tree and do the necessary modifications. The axis of the object should be parallel to the spiral plane. The Acis error would be because of the incorrectly created spiral object. In your screenshot, the spiral is categorized as a 3D object while it is a 2D object.
Best regards,
Praneeth.-
