SIwave resonant modes result export

      Hi All!

I have run into a problem when I would like to export SIwave resonant mode results, I cannot see any button or option to export resultst at once.

I have a PCB design that has got many resonant frequencies (more hundreds) and I don't would like to generate and save plots/animations individually (very time-consuming), but export all of them into a folder at once. I have already tried to use Python and PyAEDT, but couldn't find any command that could do this cumbersome task.

Has anybody any solution for this kind of problem?

      Thank you!

      HI, David,

Thank you for raising this issue. I have filed an enhancement ticket for it, and the enhancement ID is 4ERAFE08152024. It makes a lot of sense to allow user to export the resonant mode results at once. Looking forward to have this function in future release!

      Best regards,

      Rong

      Hi Rong,

Thank you for the quick answer!

If you are going to improve this functionality, could you please add the export option to the panel of numeric result of the solver as well?

The other issue I encountered is the quality of the manually exported plots/animations. According to my knowledge, I can only use the "Copy to clipboard" function to export plots of the current desktop view or the "Export" button for the "Phase animations". As I observed, the quality/resolution highly depends on the used display. With lower resolution displays (e.g. laptop), some details (e.g.component labels) cannot be seen well. In HFSS, there is an option to set the resolution of the exported image, so I think it could be implemented in SIwave, too.

My next question is also related to the resonant mode solver. If I like to perform a broadband analysis, I need to specify the number of modes for the solver. But, if I enter a number bigger than 30, I get this message:

Why is it limited? Is there any specific reason? I had to perform 10 different runs for my last analysis (up to 3 GHz) and this also makes harder the process of analysis.
Can I do some workaround (settings, change some variable, etc.) to resolve this problem?

Sorry for the long wish list :)

      Best regards,

      David

      Hi, David,

Thank you for your suggestions. I will forward them to the developers!!

      Best regards,

      Rong
