SubscriberI am simulating a pin-on-disc wear test using ANSYS LS-DYNA, with the goal of estimating wear depth accumulation over a large number of sliding cycles based on Archard’s wear law. My main difficulty is how to efficiently model long test durations (e.g., thousands of cycles or tens of minutes of sliding) without explicitly simulating every cycle. I started with a simple bar and a rectangular pin to simulate a linear movement.Â
I followed the available resources on YouTube, articles, and presentations and now able to simulate one cycle using keycards correctly. However, my problem is in the implementation of cycle-scaling (jump) and progressive wear.Â
I have no problem in using database, control, and wear keycards, but I understood that I have to use the *interface_springback_lsdyna keycard for cycle-jump which doesn't work and leads to an error.Â
Could you please help me figuring out what I should do to properly model wear? I can provide any further information on request.
Â
Thank for your time and support.

Ansys EmployeeHello Hamid,
Have you gone through this presentation Wear analysis in LS-DYNA / LS-PrePost
You have to use *interface_springback_lsdyna for the dynain file. What kind of error you are getting, It is straight forward card, you can read about in LS Dyna maual Vol I.

Ansys EmployeeHello User,
Inorder to see what error you have encountered you have to see the error message which can be seen either in the message file created in the input folder or you can see it through solution informantion.
Please refer this example for usage of *Interface_ springback card Springback II — Welcome to LS-DYNA ExamplesThanks,

SubscriberHello Vijay,
Â
Thank you very much for the follow up. I ran the sample file provided in your link and that worked fine. But I still have no clue why it doesn't work in my case. I attached the error I get and my card.Â

Ansys EmployeeHello Hamidreza,
Ansys employess are not allowed to download or open any external links through forum.
Try adding the card in the Workbench environment, adjust the input parameters, and run a few iterations. Review any error messages that appear and correct the lines that contain formatting issuesThanks,
Vijay
