Ansys Employee"Updating modes" means the software is updating the modes selected on mode expansion monitors either in port or independently. It should not create such failure issue. The cause of the failure is die to "unable to write the project file". It might mean the file is currently in the protected folder, such as download folder (some settings can prohibit resaving there), D drive or others; Sometimes the folder path can prohibit such savings due to unicode characters, space etc. it may also mean the file is corrupted.
Therefore, you may need to copy all the objects to a new project except "FDTD", and rebuild the file; or save it in a proper folder in C: drive

SubscriberThanks for the insight, moving the project files to a new folder solved the issue!
